In response to a recent announcement by the US Commerce Department's Bureau of Industry and Security, which claimed that using Huawei's Ascend chips anywhere in the world violates US export controls, Chinese Commerce Ministry spokesperson He Yongqian said on Thursday that the US abuses export control measures and tightens restrictions on Chinese chip products based on unfounded accusations.
This seriously undermines the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese companies, poses a grave threat to the stability of the global semiconductor supply chain, and disrupts market rules and the international trade order, He said.
The US' move is not conducive to the long-term mutually beneficial and sustainable cooperation and development between enterprises from the two countries; China urges the US to immediately correct its wrongful practice and will take resolute measures to safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese enterprises, He told a press briefing.
